Middleton is a small village between Hutton Rudby and Hilton, to the west of Stokesley and with a population of less than 100 people, of whom 9 regularly attend church services. There is one Eucharist service a month. The church of St Cuthbert was built in 1799 and is listed Grade 2. The parish does not have its own burial ground (churchyard).
