Hutton Rudby is infact comprised of two villages, Rudby and Hutton, with a population of approximately 2000 and situated approximately 5 miles west of Stokesley. There is a convenience store with a Post Office and a petrol filling station. In the village there is a very active village hall with many activities, clubs and events. Apart from the Church of England parish of All Saints, there is also a Methodist congregation with a chapel and hall. Anglicans, Methodists and a small group of Roman Catholics are in a Covenant and some collaborative work is undertaken in addition to working together for Christian Aid etc.

All Saints' Church, which is situated alongside the River Leven marking the boundary of Rudby and Hutton, has a closed churchyard and a peal of 8 bells. The church is approximately 700 years old, grade 1 listed and in a good state of repair. There is also a hall, known as Church House, in the centre of the village which is well used by the community and the church.
